Case 1 [not really solved]

Name: Anne
Location: Paris
Date of first discovery: May 2005
Remarks: a single bug yet discovered

Story:
April 2005. Every four or five days I noticed a bite on my body. The first under the big toe, then on the leg. I think of a mosquito and is trying to treat me with my usual ointments. But it does nothing. I go to the pharmacy and show my shots. The pharmacist, intrigued, watches and gives me a topical corticosteroid and an antihistamine (anti-allergic). Several days later, injections have eased slightly, with less pain and itching, but others (of arms) replace them. I take a visit to my doctor to tell him. I prescribed a corticosteroid stronger than the previous one. After a few days I realize that this does not work better. I then found a way to relieve these atrocious itching: run them under very hot water (be careful I do not recommend this to children and people with very sensitive!)
early May, I'm getting very concerned. I never see an insect, I do not understand where do these stings. I sometimes feel a strange odor and nauseous around my bed. A search on the internet then directs me to the bed bug. The disturbing evidence compels me to act so quickly.

Treatment performed:
first time
- vaporization of 'Baygon Verde' (I had it at home) around the bed, on the baseboard, between the floorboards, and gross error on the mattress. CAUTION: It is strongly recommended to use a insectides like that on the bedding. Spray on the mattress (with slats).
- washing clothes at 90 ° which can be washed at this temperature.
- insulation in plastic bags of clothes I can not even wash.
- obviously, the room is uninhabitable, I sleep elsewhere.

second time (a few days later)
- careful passage of the vacuum everywhere, in every corner, in every little hole in the mattress. I discovered the bodies of some insects that will prove be harmless.
- Careful crossing over the entire surface of the mattress of an iron to heat up and steam position.
- new spray Baygon on the floor under the bed.

>>> a few days later, after inspection of the room, discovered the carcass of a bed bug (which I immediately recognize from having seen a picture on the internet).
The months that follow, I watch incessantly, with a few sprays of Baygon, and other natural insecticide pyrethrum plant. I find no other bug bite and have no more, but I dare not reinstall my room.

third time (September 2005)
I still have doubts, I am very afraid that one or more bugs have escaped my vigilance.
I go in a "Glue and tries to tell him about my case, it seems rather a hurry, I confirm that the bedbug is a real mess. I explain that since May I have found one and have not been transplanted, its only response will be a smirk and a "better for you." I sell an insecticide to dilute and spray on the floor and the mattress (Permax). I do it, I spray the baseboards on the floor, in corners accessible and in each hole of the metal structure of my mattress.

Today
Still no second bug discovery, but I'm still not completely quiet.

Tips that might be useful:
- act as quickly as possible and carefully.
- for bites: unnecessary use of ointments containing corticosteroids, which are ineffective in these cases.
- treatment with high heat is perhaps the most effective (steam irons, washing at 90 °).

Question to those going there:
Are there any cases of "infection" with a single bug? Is this possible? How can I be sure it is none?
